Exciting fairytale which starts by the stove and ends with a wedding

The puppet called Honza (a plain Johnny) starts his story lazily – by the warm stove. It smells nice, he is getting hungry and then, something happens! Will Honza manage to get going in order to trump devils, a dragon and bandits? And will he manage to pick the right bride? There are many obstacles, spells and mysteries in Honza’s way. But you, children over 3 years of age, you can also help him. And if you make it to the end together, there will be a huge, royal wedding full of amazing scents, delicacies and fun. Yummy!

A new version of the famous hero’s tale was written by the acknowledged playwright Vír Peřina, using motifs from the fairytales about the Czech Honza. However, Vít’s Honza is not stupid, and he is good, albeit indecisive. That is where the great director Michaela Homolová, whose plays for children could be seen multiple times before at Gags and performed by the Naive Theatre Liberec, took over.

The theatre LokVar was founded by classmates from KALD DAMU who later became co-actors in the Dejvice Theatre and Theatre in Dlouhá and have chosen a life as free artists. The founding members are Ivana LOKajová and Peter VARga. Their stable and respected co-creators include the directors Arnošt Goldflam and Michaela Homolová, the dramaturgist Vít Peřina, as well as the artists Bára Hubená, Barbora Haragoničová and Tomáš Zmrzlý. They children’s plays are performed not only in the Czech republic, but also abroad.
