Biting, windmill-fighting satire

The well-known ensemble Commedia from Poprad is sure to enchant the tastebuds of the Kremnica audience with a juicy bit of hard-hitting humour once again. This time, they serve an a-la-carte classic satire of knight stories, but with their own twist. Enjoy a story where a poor Spanish nobleman Don Quichot goes mad from reading too many knight stories and goes into the wide world, defending ideals and human dignity. On this journey, he is accompanied by Sancho Panza, a devious, uneducated peasant, but also one who knows the wisdom and kindness of the folk. On their journey, they will encounter funny, but also thrilling situations, and they will not always manage to leave unscathed. Featuring Vladislav Vaľko, Michal Novák, Vlado Benko, Dušan Kubaň, Monika Pieklenicka, directed by the principal of the ensemble, Vlado Benko. Suitable for an audience over 15 years of age.

The Commedia Theatre has an honest 50-year history. It premiered over 65 plays and performed more than 1000 times in Slovakia, but also abroad. Their productions were seen in 20 countries of the world. The peak of their performance was their representation of Slovakia at the World theatre festival in Monaco in 2005 and 2013. Plays such as Malka, The Unwoken, Slaughter, Notes of a Red Army Officer or the monodrama Shepherd are among the very best works of Slovak non-professional theatre.
