THEATRE POLÁRKA (CZ): COMMEDIE DELL´ARTE

Love is battling with stupidity and greed. The street folk comedy with a rich acting ensemble and admirable acrobatics. Pantalon is trying to get her daughter married. In order to be sure about the true intentions of the suitors, he devises a ruse. He lets out the word that Isabel was kidnapped by the evil alchemist Dottore. The one who would rescue the daughter gets to marry her and half of Pantalon's property on top of that. Two suitors heed the call – the poor young man Valerio, who has been secretly in love with Isabel for a long time, and Capitano, a bigmouth seeking to get rich easily. And so arises a long line of gags and comical situations sure to test the courage and true character of the heroes.
