COMPAGNIE EN CROQ (F/I) Buffoonery in a trash can
FUNKY PUDDING – Buffon show
The En CroQ Company was founded in 2010 into the “Atelier Teatro Fisico” (Turin – Italy) thanks to the encounter between Luigi Ciotta and Aurélia Dedieu. The company based its theatre research into the roots of comic and popular theatre, combining it with a great civic and social engagement. Their first show, played in Italian, than in French and also in English, has already travelled to many international festivals and several European countries.
FUNKY PUDDING is a show of buffoon clowning, but it’s certainly not usual clown show. This is a comedy that has tendency to tear down the thin veil that separates the spectator from his waste, man from his society.
Big Mac and Marylin are heavily overweight couple that live “just like everyone else”... except of the fact they live in a trash can; the very same bin that we all know and love. They help the spectator understand and enter the universe of the buffoon by playing on, and often by deconstruction of everyday stereotypes and then use them to communicate their message.
As they live in and play with the waste around them, our protagonists create a caricature which describes the processes of consumerism and sheds light on its very worst traits. They paint a, slightly less than, pretty picture of an excessive, selfish and superficial society where all what is short-lived is indispensable and all what is truly essential, boring.
The performance is suitable for the spectators since the age of 12.
