Theatre Kontra SnV (SK) Marek Koterski: “I HATE”

Theatre Kontra is a professional theatre with a permanent scene in Spišská nová Ves. It was founded in January, 2007 and since then it has produced 10 first nights. The first was an Irish hit called Howie and Rookie by Mark O’Rowe which was absolutely successful amongst audiences and critics. The play was presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2007 and also in Bristol, Prague, Warsaw and Lublin, it also obtained Surprise of the New Drama award 2007 in Bratislava. Equally successful were other productions by Kontra: Rum and Vodka by Conor McPherson, Stones in the pocket by Marie Jones, Bedbound by Enda Walsh, etc. All of these productions were performed for the first time in Slovakia. During its six years existence Kontra performed nearly 500 performances across the country and abroad.

Theatre Kontra will perform at Kremnica gags a monodrama by Marek Koterski called I HATE, directed by Klaudyna Rozhin. Marek Koterski is considered one of the most interesting contemporary Polish film-maker. The play is a portrait of frustrated, failure intelligent man, a teacher, who struggles with everyday reality, blind of the source of the frustration in himself. The main character, alter-ego of M. Koterski, Adam Miaczyński, is performed by Peter Čižmár.
