DEVIL´S BROTHER-IN-LAW – Theatre GONG (SK)
A classical fairytale told in a non-classical way - from the standpoint and tongue-in-cheek view of today´s teens. Not only for children! Based on the motives of a fairytale of the same name by Božena Němcová comes a fresh adaptation, directed by Peter Varga, that brings everything but the classic approach. From the original folk motives, only the characters remains, everything else is pure fantasy and joy of play of the GONG members. The main character, Peter, is trying to overcome the difficulties which destiny throws at him, as is typical for fairytales. Will he achieve something that is his by right?
The theatre ensemble GONG from Bratislava has a long-time tradition. This year, it celebrates its 60th anniversary of founding. Ever since its establishment, the theatre is a regular participant in theatre competitions in Slovakia and a proud bearer of a range of awards. During this long history of the company, several generations have already taken the reins, some members continue their careers as creators or co-creators of new theatre performances. Let yourself be struck by infectious humour and playfulness, courtesy of those who like to make fun!
