MIROSLAV DONUTIL (CZ) – Head of Humour Academy
He was born February 7th, 1951 in Třebíč. Shortly after graduating at elementary school he, with his family, moved to Brno. And with this town his name is often associated. Originally he thought of the profession of journalist but life circumstances brought him to the JAMU theatre school. From 1973 he worked in Brno’s theatre Husa na provázku where the actors/actresses as Karel Heřmánek, Jiří Bartoška, Pavel Čmáňa Zedníček, Dáša Veškrnová, Bolek Polívka and Chantall Poullain, dramaturges and playwrights Milan Uhde, Ludvík Kundera, Václav Havel, Petr Oslzlý and directors Zdeněk Pospíšil, Eva Tálska and Peter Scherhaufer also worked and performed. Here, for twenty years alongside famous colleagues, he taught acting and theatre techniques which he uses until today and played here more than fifty memorable roles. Since 1990 he has become a member of the National Theatre in Prague.
M. Donutil needed more time to get across a film production but some roles he played will be forever recorded in the history of the Czechoslovak film. In 1978 he drew attention to himself in the title role of Nikola Šuhaj in Ballad for a Bandit film. In the 80s he disappeared from cinema screens. Although Postřižiny film, he had to wait for a larger audience success until the late nineties. Then came the role as Lieutenant Troník in Black Barons film, as attorney Ulrich in Legacy or Hurvahošigutentag, as bitter communist and domineering father of a family major Šebek in Pelíšky and as a priest in Želary, the film nominated for an Oscar. Even in the last ten years he has appeared in several successful comedies.
In addition to the fact that Miroslav Donutil will be the president of the international jury – the Academy of Humour (http://www.gagy.eu/zlaty-gunar:nominacie) he will also perform Sunday, August 26th, 2012 at 13:15 pm at the Marquee Under Castle stage with his latest entertaining program WHATEVER WAY in which the audience will not only listen to the new stories from his journeys, fishing and about his friends, but also to the songs from the CD Songs that I like.
