TOP PROGRAM for adults!


The first theatre sitcom in Slovakia! It unfolds at a sacred place, where famous personas of national history are threaten with exhumation, because of the construction of a highway. Great performances, music and singing, costumes and scenography, all in all, a truly valuable experience!

The intent of this auctorial project is to introduce the genre of sitcom, in Slovakia better known through TV series. This pilot takes the audience to the National Cemetery in Martin, a sacred place, where prominent personas of Slovak cultural life meet, after their death. The first slovak actress Anička Jurkovičová, writer Elena Maróthy-Šoltésová, vice president of Matica Slovenská Karol Kuzmány, organiser of firemen groups Miloslav Schmidt, the poet Janko Kráľ, but also a dog Bača have just been informed that expanding developers want them excavated. Will the construction of a highway win over respecting history? The director Dodo Gombár, together with other members of the theatre have created an extraordinary, amusing cabaret and a satirical, contemporary performance.

Slovak Chamber Theatre Martin was established in 1944 as the second professional theatre in Slovakia. It expanded on the strong amateur tradition, cultivated by the Slovak choir. The theatre was created not because of some orders „from above“, but naturally, from the innate demand of both the city and Slovak amateurs. The theatre has always had important influence on the formation of Slovak stage-craft, not only important talents in acting, but also unique scenographers, dramaturgists and directors were brought up here. Successes of the theatre are lined with features at prestigious world festivals and a host of awards. One of them, Dosky 2013 for the best music and for the best male main character were awarded to the first part of this sitcom, www.nationalcemetery.sk!
