Jazzman Jiří STIVÍN (CZ) THEATRE of Jiří STIVÍN

A cult persona and his theatre-concert! With participation of multiple big names thanks to video clips on the projection screen! Personas such as B. Polívka, Z. Stivínová, J. Werich, V. Burian, J .Suchý, M. Labuda, M. Lasica, J.Satinský or K. Kryl have accepted the invitation!

The host of this theatre-concert will be the well-known Czech jazz musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer, originally a filmmaker (cameraman), a rocker in the band Sputnici, co-founder of the Jazz Q quartet, the best jazz saxophonist of the year 1967, student of The Royal Academy in London, conductor of the National Theatre orchestra, a multiple prize-winner in the flute category of the European poll of Jazz Forum, a graduate of both the film faculty and musical composition at AMU in Prague. A teacher, member and iniciator in various formations ranging from jazz through „serious“ musical experiments to „old music“. An improviser, showman, face of many world scenes, jam sessions and concerts where dinner at the local pub is the only pay – that and much more is the phenomenom named "STIVÍN".

A new presentation of stage, film and country music, original songs and improvisations is a creative tornado which turns around any old images of jazz! This concert breaks free not only from the borders of music genres, but also all borders in general – if you have questions, you get answers, if you would like to play, you play, if you fancy dancing, you dance! Accept the invitation to this living-room of Jiří Stivín's theatre and feel like you're at home!
