PARA (SK) - The band that needs no introduction

The story of a music group PARA is like a jigsaw puzzle consisting of hundreds of small pieces. They originated in 1995 as so called ”box punk”. However, when they got real drums it was already a real punk. Later they got into a VERY uncommon SKA and funk. In addition, while looking for their own style they got into various ups and downs – first recordings (from a time distance evaluated to be very bad), negative criticism and frequent changes of band members. In 1997 PARA recorded the album with Oskar Rózsa, in 1998 they had concert with yet unknown band IMT Smile. That year, the lead singer Lasky came to the group. The group experienced more fundamental change with their first album produced again by O. Rózsa in 1999. In 2001 they were nominated The Newcomer of the Year in Slovak form of Grammy and they produced video-clip to the song Otec / Father. Four years later they conquered Slovak song chart lists with a single Keď ťa stretnem / When I Meet You from the Brutálna zostava / Brutal set album and they became widely known. In 2010 they participated in the mini-festival SPOLU ŠOBOV / TOGETHER ŠOBOV in the environment of the Roma community in Banská Štiavnica.

It is for sure that it is not longer necessary to introduce PARA in 2011. The jigsaw puzzles are folded, the band will play in Kremnica in a way that no one can stay cold during their concert.
