ŠTÚDIO L+S (SK): M. Lasica: LETTERS FOR EMIL
TOP PROGRAM for adults
This comedy is about the joys of the autumn of life and about the deeper purpose of being. For his fictional friend Emil, the pensioner Miro writes about his experiences from the seniors' home, where the inhabitants are forming a small, elderly voice-band. Through the songs that range from socialistic builder songs to contemporary hits, they document their life stories. Lasica's comedic story about the sadness of life encompasses half a century of our history within the character of Miro. The master of humour comments on what is happening around him from the pensioner's standpoint and introduces a varied gallery of tragicomedic pensioners. The amazing dialogues with the imaginary partner, authored by Jakub Nvota are completed by chanson-style music of Kamil Mikulčík and the acting trio of Zuzana Šebová, Barbora Švidraňová, Lujza Schrameková. The L+S studio, directed by Juraj Nvota, with the scene designed by Fero Lipták brings not only a funny, but also a human and touching story. Lasica's humour is still a unique, unimitated and contemporary phenomenon.
