PROGRAMME for young adults and adults

Interplanetary clownery of magic, tricks and the acrobacy of things, an out-of-this-world experience!

The clown play by the non-verbal theatre students of the third year at HAMU deals with the settlement of an unknown planet by a human colony. It is about things that NASA knows nothing about! On the alien planet, a huge box drops – the THING. It hides a huge array of unknown, yet fascinating objects, ranging from a ladder to a toilet plunger. Extraterrestrial clowns discover the wonders of the box and come up with various games and truly clowny trickery. The space sorceress will, with all her magic power, show a trick with a metre-long chewing gum. It becomes a skipping rope, a balloon animal, but also a piece of spaghetti worn on the nose! The biggest acrobat in space will pompously show you his grandiose trick on the balancing balloon, all the way up to the top of the THING! Magical costumes, colourful things and many physical gags will bring you a heavenly dose of laughter.

The third-year students of non-verbal theatre at HAMU in Prague have already several successful projects under their belts. The last one, THING, was created under the supervision of the teacher, Števo Capko. Young, hopeful HAMUers have performed at several Czech and Slovak festivals (Nonverbal Prague, Mimefest Polička, Festival under the open sky Hradec Králové, Festival PAN in Liptovský Mikuláš).
