The seeking for permanent representative brand of the festival ended only after 25 years of festival´s existence. At first, in 2005 the organizers announced nationwide public contest with an intention to have the figure of goose in the logo/brand. Its first ”gaggling” was reasoned already in 1981 by founders of the festival Ján Fakla and Roman Vykysalý in cabaret Non teatro buffo, or Saga of slovak gag. Forasmuch as there was not uniform agreement about winning draft the new layout was proposed by short list of professional graphic designers.
The very simple and eloquent logo made by renowned slovak illustrator and graphic designer Svetozár Mydlo in shape of well-known scale-weight won the contest very clearly. The scale-weight with a beak and legs and ambiguous shortcut Kg ”had a weight” also among the experts or laic public audience. The brand of walking greyish blue gander with red beak and white title Kg is from 2006 permanent and favourite symbol of festival and also the basic point for creative visualization of particular years.
